Eyyüp BURUN - Metin Faruk TAMER / GAZIANTEP, (DHA) - In Gaziantep, just days before Ramadan Bayram, there is intense work underway for the production of baklava ordered from both domestic and international markets. Levent Aktaş, the owner of Ayıntap Baklavaları, said, "We send baklava to all parts of the world and Turkey."
In Gaziantep, famous for its baklava and pistachios, baklava producers are working around the clock to fulfill orders from both Turkey and abroad as Ramadan Bayram approaches. The baklava dough is rolled out into paper-thin sheets by masters, and each layer is carefully placed into the tray. After adding butter and pistachios, the baklava is baked in a wood-fired oven for about half an hour, then soaked in syrup before being presented to customers.
Levent Aktaş, noting that they are working hard for the Bayram, said, "When you think of Gaziantep, the first thing that comes to mind is Antep Baklava, which is synonymous with pistachios. As always, we are making sales both domestically and internationally. All the shopkeepers are working intensively in the days leading up to Bayram, trying to meet the demand for baklava. The demand is high, so there is a lot of work being done."
'ARAB COUNTRIES SHOW THE MOST INTEREST IN BAKLAVA'
Aktaş mentioned that, as in previous years, they are sending baklava all over Turkey and to many countries around the world. "In Turkey, we send the most baklava to large cities like Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir. Abroad, Arab countries place the most orders for baklava, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. We also sell to European countries, especially Germany, and many others. Currently, we have increased our production capacity by 50%. We are working day and night to meet the demands of our customers. As Bayram approaches, our production capacity will increase even more. We plan to increase our capacity by 100% just a few days before Bayram," he said<button></button>
